In ancient times, roads were muddy, making travel slow. The Romans needed their armies to be able to travel quickly from place to place, so they built great roads. Some of them are still in use after more than 2,000 years. The Romans used deep beds of crushed stone for the base layer to ensure that they kept dry. Then they added several layers of six-sided capstones, or pavers, which reduced dust and the drag on wheels. These biblical pavers allowed soldiers, farmers and traders to travel quickly between Rome and the far reaches of the Empire.
Now you can have these same pavers that once connected an empire in your custom built wine cellar and wine tasting room. Our stone carvers will cut these authentic, reclaimed biblical stone pavers into strips and adorn the ceiling of your wine cellar and wine tasting room. These pavers aid in climate control and will look perfect whatever your personal taste in décor.
